The mission of the Health and Safety Section is to perform its function of mutual association of members, to promote uniformity of thinking and action relative to fire Health and Safety, and to provide a medium for exchange of information and ideas among Fire Service Officers with responsibility for Safety, Health and Wellness concerns.
About Us
Welcome to the San Diego County Fire Chiefs Association’s Health and Safety Section.
The Health and Safety Section was established in 2017, and is dedicated to improving all areas of health, safety, and wellness in the fire service. Through research and collaboration, the section strives to provide awareness and mitigation of health, safety and wellness issues with policy development, education, and training.
The health and safety section adopted a 5-year plan in October of 2021, to guide actions and achieve greater uniformity across jurisdictions.
Devoted and focused subcommittees of the section include: Peer and Chaplain, SIRT (Serious Incident Review Team), Cancer and Health, Cal OSHA/IIPP, and PPE.
